Girls in ICT day 2024

The Day of the Girl in the ICT sector emerged from a global initiative launched by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations' specialized agency for information and communication technologies (ICT). The idea behind this day stems from the desire to solve the problem of insufficient representation of women in the ICT sector and to promote gender equality in technological careers. 🌐💼

The International Day of Girls and Women in ICT is celebrated every year on the last Thursday of April. The GirlThing Association of Young Women has been actively participating in celebrating this day for the sixth year in a row. and tries to inspire and empower girls to venture into the world of information and communication technologies. 🚀👩‍💻

At these events, you will have the opportunity to participate in various activities, designed to reveal your talents and interest in the ICT sector. Our goal is to inspire you and show you all the fantastic opportunities that the ICT sector has to offer, and help you develop your skills and confidence in this field. 💪💻

Girl Power Fair

This year, we are inviting elementary school students from Tuzla Canton to join the challenge of making a robot model at our Girl Power Fair. Teams from your schools, consisting of a maximum of 10 members, have the opportunity to create a robot model that will be exhibited at the fair. For the best school, we have prepared a fantastic prize - 10 arduino sets that will further stimulate your creativity and innovation, and make classes in your school more fun! 💡

ICT Divas Night

This year, we have prepared a great networking event for 3rd and 4th grade high school students and all questions related to the ICT sector. Male and female students will have the opportunity to exchange experiences with successful women from the ICT sector. The goal of the activity is to promote mentoring, increase motivation and development of all young girls. 🌟💡
